OBX Civil War Round Table

The Outer Banks Civil War Roundtable. We had our first meeting on June 21 2005. At this time we have about 45 members. We had eight members attend our first meeting. Our second meeting we had twelve in attendance. Our third and fourth meetings we had nineteen attend each. Our fifth meeting had twenty-two attendees. We are just putting this website on the net so we have plenty of work to do on it. So please excuse our first attempt at a website.

What we do-- We will have informal monthly dinner meetings with guest speakers. Our main focus is to organize trips to War Between the States battlefields. Going with a group we will be able to have qualified tour guides to give us personalized tours of the battlefield. We are planning on having weekend long trips to far distant battlefields as well as some day trips to many of the battlefields that are close by. Dues are $50 per year per family.

So far we are being assisted by other Civil War Round Tables in Virginia and NC. We will be able to use their resources to find qualified speakers to attend our meetings. So far we have had and will continue to have a great list of speakers..This whole thing has worked out better than we had hoped and only seems to get better. Attend one meeting and see for your self. You'll be hooked.

Our monthly meetings are on the third Tuesday of each month. Until further notice we will be meeting at 6:30 PM at Duck Woods Country Club. Make sure you let Mike Ross know you are coming so he can give Duck Woods a headcount.
